In May of the year 2001 was accepted member of Assembly of the International Federation of ice hockey after that the conditions of accession has been met, and that some of the text on the presence of local teams and the league under the umbrella of the Assembly and the provision of international referees and the presence of rinks with Olympic specifications.

Federation has sought to enhance the representation of UAE bodies and international sports organizations concerned with the ice sports and finding a foothold in the first rows in the membership, and these efforts culminated in winning full membership in the International Ice Hockey Federation on May 16, 2013 AD, to be the United Arab Emirates

The first Arab country that enjoys full membership and you get to vote on the eligibility of two voices to be like the leading countries in this game.

Federation continued his performance and outstanding achievements large until recently obtained membership of the International Skating Union (ISU) under the International Skating Union a letter dated 10/15/2013, bringing Emirates ice sports federation is responsible for all special events of ice hockey, and all ice sports accredited to the International Skating Union in the United Arab Emirates.
